Amsterdam and Anne Frank House

We finally hit Amsterdam, one of the highlights of our little excursion around Europe, here for 10 days. There is a lot of rain but at least its not cold 20 max. We arrived from Rotterdam about 2pm out of the station Peters first visual was a parking bay for bicycles approximately 800 or more. That's a visual he remembers as a boy in Holland. The studio where we are staying in is a beautiful loft apt in a street with a canal, private little boats all owned by the residents. 5 level buildings with a hook on the top floor so they can get there furniture in. The studio is a big loft apt with every thing inside, from a washing machine, dish washing to a computer. We are very comfortable here.
After that we went to the market and had lunch. Then we went to Anne Frank House (museum) where a family and a few others hids during the WWII. Anne, 13 years old,who received a diary for her birthday wrote her complete story from the time she went into hiding until she passed away in a concentration camp a few weeks before it was liberated. Her diary has since been translated into 60 languages. Peter was very impressed with her story. I bought him the book "Diary of Anne Frank" from the Museum Shop.
Amsterdam is so beautiful, we are in the Jordaan neighbourhood it's the city most charming and relaxing area.
