Dam square

Yesterday we went to the Dam Square its the centre of Amsterdam. The square is surrounded by beautiful old buildings (dutch renaissance) like the Madame Tussuad Museum, The Royal Palace and old central post office which now is a big shopping center similar gallerias Lafayette in Paris, 5 levels of open shopping. In the center of the Dam square there is a monument to honour the victim of WWII. There are a lot of people in the square just relaxing and watching the street per formers. Amsterdam started from Dam Square in 1270.
The famous Amsterdam coffee shop is a bar what sells legal marijuana, hash, mushrooms cakes and organic hallucinogens. Smart drug shops started popping up all over the city in the early 1990s and are now an established addition to the coffee shops scene (about 300). The dutch police simply turn a blind eye to soft drugs for personal use, meaning you can carry up to 5 g without a care in the world. A very modern country
