Helmond

After a good train trip from Paris we arrived in Helmond, where Peter was born. There were 11 family members at the station waiting to greet us. Peters' family gave me a beautiful bouquet of flowers and one of his cousin filmed our arrival and others took lots of photos. After that we walked to Peter's aunties house were 10 more family members were waiting to greet us and have a coffee with a biscuit. After that we went to Peter's uncle Leos and auntie Annies' house where we stayed for 3 days. We had a good time there. They are very charming hosts, we became intimate immediately with them. They have a very comfortable house.
We were very busy the whole 3 days. On Sunday we were driven all over Helmond. It is a very beautiful city. We had a look at where Peter's grand mother and grand father lived and where he played as a boy; we went to the school where he went as a boy and the place where he use to live 40 years ago. It has all changed so much. Later that day we went for lunch at a quaint little restaurant along side a canal with his uncle Leo, auntie Annie and his son Angelo and his wife Angela. The family greeted us with so much zeal we were overcome. Then at night we met Mariela (Leo and Annies daughter) and Barry and their two beautiful children. Where we had a delicious barbecue.
