Rijks Museum and Red Light Ditrict

Peter wrote - We walked along the streets of Amsterdam just pretty, went to the flower market - flowers every where, just beautiful. Of to the Rijks Museum wonderful. However, most of the Rijks is closed until 2008. Its a big museum but only the main paintings are on display. Opened in 1885, the museum holds Netherlands largest collection of art and artefacts.
Then of to the Red Light district of Amsterdam, every thing there is to do with sex - live sex shows, banana shows, museums and the hookers in the window (don't take photos's) they throw water on you. Well, I got wet but not to worry. Girls from all over the world work from these windows. Only 5% are dutch, the marjority of them come from the former Soviet Union and Eastern bloc countries. There are 450 windows. The women pay around E50 to E100 per day to rent their window. Cost from E35 to E50 per 15 min. An impressive 40% British client frequent them. (info Lonely Planet). Its a different sight.
