Budapest

Budapest is a city with the beautiful Danube River that divides Buda from Pest. We are staying on the Pest side because I read that the Pest side is busier than the Buda side. Our first view of pest was the Keleti train station, its quite big lots of people looking for our business, taxi drivers, accommodation sellers and money exchanger. Just like Paris, Budapest is proud of two of its old, iron framed railwaz statios: Keleti and Nyugati stations built in 1877, then we went to a big ornate building the Market Hall selling food on the first floor, veg, fruits, seafood and lots of salami, on the top floor souvenirs and tradition manchester, clothing and restaurants. It is a favourite place for celebrity guest to be filmed buying garlic or red paprika pepper. It was 40 degrees outside, no air conditioning inside so it was just hot despite this we still had fun here. The weather is around 40 degree every day and Budapest has little air condition everything moves slowly. After the market we traveled alongside the Danube by tram until the Parliament - it is the biggest and daunting building we have ever seen it is huge and so elaborate. They must have had alot of money when it was built. The Parliament, the bridges and the Opera Hoouse, by the turn of the century Budapest had caught up with its old rival Vienna.

There is a big park along side the Parliament which had alot of shade so we stayed there for quite awhile. When it cooled of to 35 degree we went to a restaurant and had a wonderful dinner. Peter drank a one litre glass of beer then of to the apartment. The agent who is responsible for the apt. gave us alot of tourist information so helpful.
